We are looking for support workers to work within a small team in a residential home for adults with mental health conditions or our supported accommodation project based in Bedford Town centre. You will need patience, empathy, a sense of humour and a willingness to learn. Your duties will include:

  • Administration of medication/medication management
  • Prompting with self-care
  • Budgeting
  • Social inclusion
  • Supporting at appointments
  • Enhancing living skills- cleaning, laundry, setting goals
  • Providing an evening meal from a menu chosen by service users
  • Care planning/risk assessing

We are also looking for Support Workers for our Supported accommodation Projects in Bedford. Here the successful candidate will work alongside and support the residents to increase their level of independence and enhance their life skills. There is no personal care in our Supported Accommodation houses.

You will work 5 days out of 7 including some weekends for which enhancements are paid. Rotas are published on a 4 weekly basis. Shifts are general a mixture of earlies, lates, long-days and possibly night work. You will need to be available for: (There may be some variation in these shifts depending upon need – this is an example only)

  • Early-8am-2pm
  • Late-2pm-10pm
  • Mid-10am-5pm
  • Long day – 8am – 8pm
  • Sleep in- 10pm-8am (residential care only)
  • Waking nights 8pm – 8am (supported accommodation only occasionally)
  • 12pm-5pm (weekends)
