Alexander House Adult Enablement Unit is a bespoke modern environment, registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a care home (opening October 2023), situated at 78 Ampthill Road in Bedford, conveniently near the heart of Bedford town centre.

This modern conversion offers a unique and personalised approach to adult care, caring for individuals with various needs.

Bedrooms spread across three floors, including two ground-floor rooms designed specifically for those with physical health requirements. These rooms are wheelchair-accessible and are suitable for equipment such as hoists and profile beds. Each of these specialised rooms includes an ensuite walk-in shower, ensuring safe and comfortable personal care.

To enhance accessibility within the unit, a lift is in place, facilitating easy access to the first floor for service users with mobility issues. In addition to these individualised spaces. Our care home features communal areas for social interaction and relaxation. On the ground floor, a kitchen, lounge area with a dining space is available, while the first floor offers a quieter area with a kitchenette and lounge for residents’ comfort.

All bedrooms within Alexander House are ensuite and fully furnished.

We actively encourage service users to personalise their rooms, creating a homely atmosphere that promotes well-being and comfort.

Our commitment extends to providing round-the-clock care to adults aged 18 and over dealing with a range of conditions, including but not limited to schizophrenia, learning disabilities, chronic anxiety, personality disorders, acquired brain injuries, mental health diagnoses, substance misuse, coexisting health conditions and complex needs.

We firmly believe that the environment plays a pivotal role in fostering mental health well-being, and Alexander House is designed to provide a welcoming and homely atmosphere.

In addition to mandatory training, we offer a range of in-house training and development opportunities tailored to the specific requirements of our service users.

These opportunities encompass essential subjects, but not limited to, supporting individuals with conditions like emotionally unstable personality disorder, psychosis, self-harm and autism.
