BHS Domiciliary Care

Bedfordshire Supported Housing is a leading provider of patient-centred domiciliary care (also known as home care) in Milton Keynes. Our aim is to support clients to lead fulfilling lives within their home environment. The care we provide ensures that they can live independently, in the way they wish. BHS domiciliary care packages are individually tailored for adults over the age of 18.

The service users we provide care for may be living on their own, or in a small group setting (supported accommodation). The job of the support worker is to offer regular and reliable characterised by compassion and respect.

The Role of Support Worker

As a Support Worker, under the guidance of a Senior Support Worker, you’ll be working with clients who either live alone, or in a small group setting. The people you work with will have a range of mental health and physical issues. Your role will be to accompany service users on trips to the cinema, or to appointments, or you may be helping them to follow a structured activity programme.

As part of the care you provide, you will also be required to:

  • Complete reports – daily progress notes and reports for care reviews
  • Carry Out Weekly Review Meetings – these are 1:1 meetings with service users
  • Provide Everyday Support – this may include personal care, personal hygeine, budgeting, shopping and light household tasks.
