BHS works like a family; we support and look out for each other and we share the values that underpin the work we do. It matters to us that our home carers feel appreciated, which is why we offer the following rewards:
BSH has a great reputation for high-quality home care in Bedford. Also known as domiciliary care, this important service allows people to lead fulfilling lives in familiar surroundings. Home care ensures that our clients are able to remain independent, and live their lives in the way they want. Our home care packages are based on an initial professional assessment and are tailored to clients’ needs. It is available to anyone needing care who is over 18 years old, including the elderly.
Home care roles in Bedford may include cooking basic meals, helping with housework or shopping, contributing to shared conversation or activities, or accompanying your client to a social event or job interview. Where complex care is required your role may also include washing and dressing, specialist feeding and medication management.
A number of our older clients are suffering with dementia. Many of them have chosen to treat this debilitating illness in their homes because it helps to stave off the disorientation that can occur when someone is relocated to a care home. BSH offers personalised care packages for clients living with dementia, from early symptoms through to its more severe effects.
Ideally, personalised dementia care is created in discussion with the client and their friends and/or family. This allows us to engage everyone in the process of future planning, which includes practical adaptation of the home environment. Specialist in-house dementia care training is available for BSH carers taking on this role.
