Bedfordshire Supported Housing is a leading local provider of home care services across Bedfordshire. The home care packages we offer are available to adults who wish to receive support in order to lead independent lives in their own homes. We place no upper age limit on the clients we provide care for.
Our professional care workers offer a combination of skills, experience and versatility to the work they do in Bedfordshire homes. They are capable of providing personal care to clients of different ages, with a range of requirements and conditions. Our home care services always treat the person, rather than their symptoms, and we take into account the religion, culture and lifestyle of each of our clients.
BSH carers offer a broad range of care services for older clients. From hourly care offering shopping, medication reminders or light domestic duties, to live-in care and 24 hour care provided by teams.
We have specialist carers who are experienced in working with clients who have been diagnosed with dementia. We can offer tailored care packages from the early stages right through to more severe symptoms.
We offer bespoke support for clients with learning difficulties. The aim is always to encourage independence and community integration. We can help with accompanying clients to work placements, social events and educational courses.
The care we offer may include therapeutic engagement, medication management, light domestic duties, or personal care. Whatever the support we deliver, compassion and kindness are at the core of our offering.
If someone wishes to die at home, the care team at Bedfordshire Supported Housing offer them all the support they need in order to do so comfortably, and with their loved ones around them. We have a 24 hour palliative support team, which includes the continuing healthcare team, district nurses and Partnership for Excellence in Palliative Support (PEPS). Our goal is to offer compassionate care up to the end of their life.
BHS staff complete mandatory training, as well as supplementary courses each year. Carers receive appropriate specialist training, including medication management, dementia care, managing challenging behaviour, stoma care and PEG feeding.
Our senior team are experienced and have a range of qualifications, including QCF level 5 in Leadership in Health and Social Care and a minimum of QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care. We are recognised by the Care Quality Commission as offering consistently good care to our clients.
