COMMUNITY CARE ASSISTANTS (MALE)
Location : Bedford – with regular travel around Bedfordshire
Hours : Up to 40 hours per week
Salary : £8.75 – £10.58 per hour – depending on experience
ABOUT THE ROLE
Male Community Care Assistants/Male Community Support Worker to work with an individual male client
Full and Part Time contractual hours available
We are looking for a small team of experienced male carer’s (male ) to work, predominantly with, a specific male client with mental health issues and learning disabilities. You will also be working as part of the community team visiting other clients in their homes.
You will be working with a male client in his own home. The position requires you to be able motivated to support with all aspects of his daily living, prompting with personal care, medication management, deliver social inclusion and practical support such as budgeting, cooking and shopping and maintaining safety and security. You will be required to do sleep-in shifts and live- in part of the week.
We are keen to hear from you if you have experience of working with people who have either mental health issues, learning disabilities or challenging behaviour. Experience of working with people who are on the autistic spectrum is an advantage. The personal qualities you should have are sociable, outgoing, confident, kind, caring and sensitive to the needs of others. You must be committed to the role. You should be self-motivated and well organised.
You will be working a range of shifts: earlies, lates and sleep-ins. There is an element of living-in part of the week with sleep-in arrangements. We also have waking nights available. The ability to drive is essential and you should have your own car and a clean driving license. You will receive a robust induction through guidance, training and shadowing with the senior team leader for the individual.
