Senior Community Support Worker

Location : Bedford – with regular travel around Bedfordshire
Hours : Up to 40 hours per week
Salary : Up to £10.00 – £11.70 (inc enhancements)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are the second biggest provider of domiciliary care in Bedford and we are recruiting for reliable Community Support Workers to work in all areas of Bedford and Central Bedfordshire.

As a senior Community Support Worker, you will provide guidance, support, and supervision to our community support worker team. You will monitor adherence to policy and procedure and ensure that BSH values are always upheld. You will work as part of the on-call team on a rota basis.

You will contribute to the delivery of care in accordance with the Health & Social Care Act 2008. By providing practical and emotion support to people, giving them the ability to live safely in their own homes. You will work with adults with a wide range of conditions which include, people with mental health problems, physical health issues, or a learning disability. We also support people who are elderly and frail who may need a little support to live well at home. Some of your duties will include supporting individuals to access their community; through shopping, social inclusion and accompanying to appointments, supporting people to attend voluntary work and education courses. Some of the people we support will require assistance with personal care and household tasks such as preparing light meals.

ABOUT YOU

  • Have experience and knowledge of supporting and caring for people with complex mental health needs
  • Ideally have NVQ level 3 “Health and Social Care”
  • Experience in managing others
  • can demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
